A Psalm for all who suffer from COVID-19

This is an incredibly difficult time in the lives of those who are suffering from this pandemic. Matters not what age, gender or country. Whether in hospital, nursing home or at home, Psalm 38 expresses some of the prayers I can only imagine anyone who knows the ravages of this virus can cause.

‘…your hand presses hard upon me.’

‘I am utterly bowed down and prostrate; I go about in mourning all the day long.’

‘I am utterly numb and crushed; I wail, because of the groaning of my heart.’

‘My heart is pounding, my strength has failed me, and the brightness of my eyes is gone from me.’

But here is the last prayer: ‘Make haste to help me, O Lord of my salvation.’ Amen.
